The bezel is in good condition, while the case-back still exhibits the Yema emblem, and the serial numbers are deeply engraved.
The “Super Sub Sea” moniker referred to both the Zenith and Movado waterproof replica watches, not such a surprising fact given that the two companies were under the same ownership for almost two decades from the late 1960s onwards. The Meca-10 runs off a brand new movement, the HUB1201, a visually impressive manually wound number that packs a solid 10 days of power into two barrels. Of course the movement is on show from the front, and it’s there to see from behind too, with three parallel bridges, detailed to look like Meccano, but presenting a cleaner, horizontally stacked structure. What’s more, the Hublot has done a solid job giving what’s essentially a fairly simple movement with power reserve indicators great depth visual interest. .
